Post-Op Instructions

Endodontic Post-Op Instructions

What to Expect after your endodontic treatment, your tooth or gums may be sore for a few days. This is nothing to worry about, and is normal. You can brush and floss as normal, but we ask you to avoid eating anything hard, crunchy, or sticky, until your dentist places the permanent restoration for you. Any discomfort can be relieved by taking Advil or Tylenol. If these over-the-counter medications do not work, call our office right away.

Further Instructions

Your endodontic treatment is complete. The outer surface of your tooth is being protected with a temporary restoration. You will need a permanent restoration to protect the tooth and help prevent decay and fractures. Please call your dentist to make an appointment for a dental crown. McKinney Endodontics will send your dentist a complete report of the procedure. We offer follow-up exams to check on you during the healing process anytime you need. If you feel that something isn't right, please call us so we can help you.
